In 2020, we pulled our oldest daughter out of traditional school and started homeschooling. It was equal parts exciting and terrifying. We had no community, no support network, and approximately zero people in our lives who understood what we were doing or why.

What we did have was a very clear sense that our kids deserved something better. Not just academically, but socially. A place where they could build real friendships, develop leadership skills, and learn alongside other families who actually got it.

​

So we built it ourselves.

​

In September 2021 we decided to start a program, and the Cooks Creek Homeschool Collective officially launched in January 2022. What started as a small group of families figuring it out together has grown into a genuine community, one we are incredibly proud of.

​

We tinker with our program every single year because good enough is never really good enough when it comes to your kids. We listen, we adjust, and we keep showing up.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

We believe education works best when families are part of it, not just drop-off spectators. At Cooks Creek, parents are partners. We keep communication open, welcome involvement, and genuinely mean it when we say this is a collective effort.

​

We are conveniently located in Cooks Creek, Manitoba, central to Winnipeg, Beausejour, Selkirk, and Oakbank. So no matter where you are coming from, we are probably closer than you think.
